Mr Joseph Crook

Having grown up locally, Joe studied dentistry at The University of Manchester and after graduating remained in Manchester working in a mixed NHS and private practice. During this time he completed postgraduate examinations with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow obtaining Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons.

 

Joe then was successful with his application for a position as a Dental Core Trainee with the Lancashire Care Trust. This role with the salaried dental service involved:

 

• Treatment of children under Inhalation sedation

• Treatment of nervous patients referred by general dental practitioners

• Treatment of patients with challenging needs

• Children’s extractions under General Anaesthesia

• Dental treatment of patients under General Anaesthesia

• Fortnightly postgraduate training sessions in all areas of dental care

 

Following this Joe moved to Martin J Kenyons Dental Surgery and is now in his fourth year here. During this period he has attended a number of additional courses and study days. A further qualification Joe has acquired is that to provide short term orthodontics giving him the ability to help patients straighten their front teeth using the Quick Straight Teeth system.

 

Coinciding with the previous roles Joe has also worked for Emergency Dental Services for both the Lancashire Care and the Blackpool and Fylde Coast Trusts. This has given him great experience of treating dental emergencies such as toothache and dental infections.

 

In his downtime Joe is a fan football and golf, although he has now hung up his boots and needs much more time on the greens if his putting is to improve. Joe also enjoys walking his energetic golden Labrador.
