Mr Peter Kenyon

BDS (Distinction), MJDF (RCS Eng)

Originally from Lytham, Peter returned to the area and joined the practice in 2016.

 

After leaving Arnold School in Blackpool, Peter moved to Bristol to complete his undergraduate training where following five years of study, he graduated achieving  Distinctions in Restorative Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine before graduating with Distinction overall, and was awarded prizes for Restorative Dentistry and Orthodontics.

 

Following graduation Peter worked for a year in a mixed Private and NHS practice in Ascot before undertaking a year of dedicated training in Restorative Dentistry at the prestigious Royal London Hospital. Over this time he also completed postgraduate examinations to attain Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

 

In his hospital role he gained experience with complex treatment planning, and the treatment of cases often referred from general practice including:

 

• Endodontics

• Tooth wear

• Dentures

• Crown and bridgework

• Oral surgery

• Oral biopsies

• Intravenous sedation

• Dental Implants

 

Peter has a particular interest in helping patients with complex treatment needs, and to develop these skills further is currently completing a Master of Clinical Dentistry degree in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics at King's College London and a Master of Science degree in Dental Implantology at the University of Bristol.

 

To complement these skills Peter has completed training with Invisalign orthodontics to help people discretely straighten their teeth, and provides Enlighten tooth whitening within the practice, an accredited Enlighten Centre of Excellence. In line with improving people's appearance Peter is also certified in the provision of Basic and Advanced Botulinum Procedures.

 

Peter enjoys helping nervous patients and is experienced with both inhalation (gas and air) and intravenous sedation. For both of these he has completed certified training at Barts Health NHS Trust in compliance with national guidance as outlined by the Intercollegiate Advisory Committee for Sedation in Dentistry.

 

In his spare time he enjoys travel, exercise, skiing, tennis and golf, though like Joe needs much more practise!
